Lead Data Architect

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a remote contract role

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the technical data strategy and present to leadership the solutions to complex data problems
  • Architect and build a scalable and supportable data infrastructure around a cloud-based data lake
  • Design and enrich data pipelines to combine disparate data from batch and real-time data sources
  • Profile data sources, measure data quality and create systems to ensure data integrity for machine learning, analysis, and reporting
  • Develop and maintain an internal data dictionary and data pipeline topology
  • Strategically challenge and evolve the existing data environment and architecture
  • Work with areas of the business and product to prioritize and refine the work of the team in an agile environment
  • Explore the latest data products and tools

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • 8+ years of experience in a customer-facing cloud-based data architecture with pipeline development and team leadership a plus
  • Evaluated and implemented data solutions in AWS or Google Cloud •
  • Able to communicate complex technical solutions to non-technical audiences with ease •
  • Detail-oriented and driven by the importance of the semantics and integrity of data
  • Knowledge of and aptitude for machine learning development and implementation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and exhibits a positive, people-oriented, and energetic attitude

Qualification

  • Minimum 8 years of experience
  • You’re passionate about developer tools, with an extensive engineering background
  • Experience designing, building, testing, and delivering in agile environment
